Aid Afghanistan for Education (AAE) has been working in the education sector for over two decades. AAE has been providing education to marginalized Afghan women and girls over the age of ten, who are denied access to the formal education system due to conflict age, marital status returnees without education documentation. The indomitable spirit of Afghan women guides AAE and children who, despite over 30 years of war and violence, are determined to build a bright and prosperous future for themselves and their families.

After opening and operating schools in Afghanistan for over 20 years, we have established a new organization, based in the U.S., and operating as a non-profit, dedicated to improving the lives of girls and boys who have been forced to scavenge or sell plastic bags, pens, or chewing gum to earn $0.30 or $0.50 per day to contribute to their families’ daily food.

“In August of 2022, the country fell under the Taliban’s control. We had to shut down our program and once again girls are banned from school after sixth grade. Also, female students are banned from attending university.

Our values

We believe that education is a fundamental human right and a powerful tool for peace and development. We empower the most marginalized communities through education, which we see as the key to overcoming poverty and achieving social justice. We believe that by investing in education, we can create a positive impact on the lives of individuals, families and communities, and contribute to a more prosperous and equitable world. We stand with our partners and allies in Afghanistan, who want a better future. We will keep working to advance education in Afghanistan, as part of our global goals and commitments.
