My name is David and I’m here to raise funds for Zan Times, which is a digital news and investigative female led journalist not for profit organisation.
I currently teach English to Afghan women and their stories are truly heartbreaking. I also write free of charge for Zan Times with the Afghan poet Somaia Ramish. Zan Times, which has had many articles printed in the Guardian newspaper, is important to me because they investigate and produce news about Afghan women that would otherwise not become public.
They have trained fellows, all women inside Afghanistan, to become clandestine journalists at a great risk, and there is a network exposing the horrors of the Taliban. The funds raised will be paid to Zan Times staff in Canada.
